Western Digital has announced the new WD TV media player which plays HD files from external hard drives on your TV.
We can connect one or two USB hard drives , a USB camera, camcorder, or mass storage device with content to the WD TV’s two USB ports. Then connect the device to a TV using either the included composite video cables or HDMI cable.An optical digital audio output is also available for connecting to a surround-sound receiver.It plays a number of video, photo, and audio formats including 1080p HD video, various MPEG formats, MP3, OGG-Vorbis, MKV with subtitle support, JPEG, TIFF, and more.The WD TV Media Player also comes with the expected accessories, like a remote control and “advanced navigation” for on screen interfacing with your media.This interesting media player costs around $130.
